Going beyond the classroom to foster global awareness and engagement is an important aim. An inspirational session is provided by a guest speaker who discusses the United Nations, international aid efforts, and the specific support given to a charity group in Uganda. It serves as a gateway to understanding global issues and the power of humanitarian initiatives. This initial talk creates a foundational link, encouraging students to delve deeper into global challenges and sustainable development goals over time. Building on these discussions can involve organising fundraisers, initiating educational campaigns, or even fostering partnerships with similar organisations, nurturing a long-term commitment to making a meaningful difference far beyond Nottingham. These activities not only broaden perspectives but encourage active participation among sixth formers.
