The Kindergarten and Reception classes are an integral part of the Prep School providing high quality care and education to girls and boys from the age of 3. The children are encouraged to play and learn in a warm, welcoming and stimulating environment. Each child is treated as an individual and is encouraged to fulfil their potential to the best of their ability. Our small classes ensure that staff are fully able to meet the needs of each child.
There is open admission from age 3 depending on availability of places and readiness for a structured environment. Readiness is defined as the ability to manage feeding and toileting independently and to be capable of understanding and complying with basic instructions. We expect that all Kindergarten children will build up to full time, starting on a minimum of three full days. Reception places are full time.
Our Stay and Play sessions are aimed at our youngest prospective pupils looking for a place in our Kindergarten or Reception class. The children have the opportunity to join in an hour’s activity with our existing pupils while parents can have a chat with key staff. All sessions run from 9.00am to 10.00am.
