We are so excited to be able to extend the nurture, warmth and success that students at Hollygirt experience throughout their school days into a Sixth Form.
Hollygirt Sixth Form enables students to meet their potential in a caring community in which they feel secure, whilst providing the Sixth Form experience of independence and opportunities to grow and develop. Students thrive both academically and personally.
Students benefit from being at the heart of the Sixth Form, rather than being one of many.
Sixth formers are an integral part of the Hollygirt and wider community. They grow into future-ready young adults, through developing their skills and confidence. Clear and personalised guidance for higher education and career paths will allow all to make informed choices. Our vision for our students is that they will be equipped with the qualifications and mindset to shape their futures. As valued and valuable members of our society, they will become the best candidates in their chosen fields.
Our prospectus is available to view here.
As a new Sixth Form, we invested significant amounts of time and money into getting our offer right and were informed by an independent schools consultant.
We took advice about the world of work, employers and the current trends that our youngsters can expect to experience. Whilst we offer traditional A levels and BTEC courses, a key element of our provision will be in ensuring that our Sixth Form students have access to opportunities in the community and in school to develop a different set of skills; ones that employers are looking for: critical thinking, creative problem solving, cognitive flexibility, leadership, emotional intelligence, decision making, a sense of purpose, the ability to negotiate and the confidence to hold a conversation.
These skills are ones that we promote throughout a student’s entire time at Hollygirt. The Sixth Form builds on these foundations in preparation for the world of work.
We dedicate time through a social curriculum that runs alongside the taught A level and BTEC courses to develop the students as people; skills that our students can talk about in university and work interviews.
We will support gap years with suggestions for CV building and dedicate time and resources to ensuring our Sixth Form students make informed choices for the future.
