Weekly News – Friday 13th March

Message from the Headmistress

Dear Parents,

As the sun shines, let’s be grateful for the positives we see all around us. Today, as school wears neon and sportswear to dance through the day, we are buzzing with energy. It is Sport Relief!  I am sure our social media will be full of brilliant photos of much colour and madness soon. I was particular impressed in morning briefing to be faced with all 5 spice girls! We had a fabulous Open Day on Wednesday with some parents already booking taster days and considering joining the school immediately. Well done to all our Senior School pupils who acted as tour guides.

Clearly the focus of the week has been managing the developing health crisis and there will be an update mailed to all parents with the latest government advice later today. We will be making decisions about our more public gatherings and this news will be in that email.

We have a full compliment of well staff and most pupils are in school as normal.

This is a brief mail today, but I urge you all to do all you can to stay well and to protect yourself from unnecessary additional risks.

Have a lovely weekend.

Dear Parents,

We have had a busy week of sporting activities in juniors this week, beginning with superb performances by the U9 football team on Monday where the boys finished joint top, losing out only on goal difference. This was followed by KS1 participating in an Agility Festival on Tuesday which they thoroughly enjoyed. Today, we have lots of neon costumes as we take part in the Danceathon for Sport Relief. Yesterday, some of Year 4 visited Nottingham Girls’ High School for a social enterprise day and had a really enjoyable time. [Photographs on FacebookTwitterInstagram and our website]. Many thanks to the school for hosting this event. Meanwhile, Reception parents came in for the afternoon and looked like they were all having a lot of fun, joining in with various activities including making slime!

Mrs Hutley will keep you advised with the latest advice on coronavirus as we receive information from the government or parents.

Have a lovely weekend.
