It was the first day of the Autumn Term yesterday and pupils in Year 1 were eager to learn about the autumn season. We made hedgehogs using clay. Next step…painting!
As the leaves begin to fall off the trees on Elm Avenue and the weather gets colder, hedgehogs will be getting ready for hibernation. Autumn is the perfect time to feed hedgehogs in your garden as they need to put on enough weight to reach a safe hibernation weight. You can leave out foods like tinned dog or cat food (not fish-based). Never feed hedgehogs milk; instead provide plain, fresh water in a shallow bowl.
