The staff at Hollygirt have had a wonderful morning celebrating with pupils as they collected their exam results this morning. It was a joy to see the excitement and relief among the pupils, and many parents, and their gratefulness towards staff for their support over the last two years.
Not every single result is expected, and while there were many pleasant surprises as higher than expected grades tumbled out of envelopes, there were a few grades which pupils hoped would be higher, but I was impressed to see these met with pragmatism and recognition that they did their best.
Our pupils left us to start registering at their selected colleges where they’ll be embarking on a mix of vocational and A Level courses. We look forward to keeping in touch with our newest group of Old Hollygirtians and hearing about their progress; I am very much looking forward to catching up with them at Prize giving in October and during our 150th Anniversary year in 2027.
A huge well done to all pupils, and to the parents and staff who have supported them through their GCSE journey.
