Message from the Headmistress
Dear Parents,
Resolution number one: do not forget to write the Friday Newsletter to parents …..
We have welcomed Cara to Senior School as well as Zain, Lucky and Nellie to Early Years. We hope our new children will be incredibly happy here.
We also were delighted to welcome Mrs Andrea Bamber to her role as my PA and Admissions Manager, replacing Lucy Wilkins who left at Christmas. Mrs Bamber can be contacted about enquiries to the school, Open Days, parents’ forum, and if you want to see me on andreabamber@hollygirt.notts.sch.uk. She has made a great start and with our very busy Entrance Day at which we seek our Year 7 entry for 2020 just 2 weeks away, she is learning fast!
This week I was very pleased to eat a bit of a motte and bailey castle! There have to be advantages to being across the corridor from Geography. What amazing models the Year 7 all made…
Next Week is looking calm (though I am away inspecting another school mid -week). Mock exams continue all week in Senior School. On Wednesday 15th the School Uniform Supplier, School Wear Solutions, will pop in with their pop up shop from 8am-9.30 at No. 9 Villa Road. On Friday the Friends of Hollygirt will meet in my office at 4pm.
I hope you have all made a good start to January and that the misery of early dark nights and grey cold mornings is bearable for a few more weeks.
Have a great weekend,
Mrs Hutley

Message from the Head of Juniors
Dear Parents,
Happy New Year! I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas break. I don’t think relaxing is perhaps the right word for it but definitely one of my favourite times of year. Thank you for the cards and gifts that I received.
A special welcome to the new children in Junior School who already seem to have settled into their classes; I am sure they will be very happy here.
Our extra-curricular programme will begin next week. Please make sure forms with your children’s choices have been returned. It certainly looks very exciting with some new activities on offer. We do encourage children to take part in as many clubs, both lunchtime and after school, as they can to both broaden their interests and allow them to work with children from different year groups.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Wright
