The first two weeks of the new term have flown by, but it’s been great to welcome back pupils and staff. The pupils have responded positively, and school feels calm and purposeful. I would like to thank pupils for making a positive start to the new term.
Our expectations of pupils are high, but what makes Hollygirt a special place to learn and develop is the care and support that our staff give. All staff are passionate about working with parents to give their child the best possible chance of reaching their potential.
We started this week with an assembly on Charity and our four Houses chose their Charity for this year.
Clumber – Macmillan Cancer Support
Rufford – Cancer Research UK
Thoresby – UNICEF
Welbeck – Water Aid UK
House Captains and Form Captains were also elected this week.
The Extra Curricular Activity (ECA) programme started this week, and it was excellent to see so many pupils already signed up and taking part. We are proud to offer a varied lunch time and after school programme and we encourage every pupil to attend at least one session a week. We also offer breakfast club and homework club after school.
Here’s to a great Autumn term!
