Joining Hollygirt

We welcome applications for entry into Years 6 to 10, subject to availability. Our admissions process is thoughtful and personal: we want to understand how your child learns, what interests them and whether Hollygirt feels like the right fit.

Senior School Taster Day Looking For Year 7 Entry for September 2028?

Choosing a senior school is a big decision - not just because of what your child will learn, but because of who they’ll become along the way. At Hollygirt, every pupil is known. Small classes give children more space to ask questions, explore ideas and find their voice, with teachers who know when to offer support and when to provide a new challenge.

They’ll join our Year 5 pupils for a varied day of lessons, meet teachers and future classmates, and discover what an ordinary day at Hollygirt feels like.

It’s completely natural to feel nervous about arriving somewhere new - especially when you don’t know anyone yet. Many of the children attending will feel exactly the same. Our pupils and staff will be there to offer a warm welcome, help everyone settle in and make sure nobody feels left on the sidelines.

By the end of the day, we hope your child leaves with new friends, new ideas and a clearer sense of what their future at Hollygirt could hold.

Year 7 Entrance Day for Year 6 pupils

We’re delighted to invite current Year 6 pupils to our Entrance Day in January 2027, this is for children hoping to join Hollygirt in Year 7 in 2027.

Entrance Day isn’t about sitting an exam or performing under pressure. It’s an opportunity for us to get to know your child - and for them to get to know us.

Throughout the day, pupils will take part in a lively mix of lessons and activities led by our teachers. We’ll notice how they approach a new idea, what captures their curiosity and how they connect with the people around them. Each child will also spend time one-to-one with our Headteacher, talking about the interests, ideas and experiences that make them who they are.

There’s no entrance examination at Hollygirt. We’re interested in more than a score on a page. We want to understand whether your child will feel at home here, thrive within our small community and share the Curiosity, Creativity, Confidence and Character that shape life at our school.
